The Outsourcing Voice of Jamaica

June 26, 2018

THE INAUGURAL itelbpo Summit was staged recently pulling together some of the leading minds in the global outsourcing market to examine Jamaica’s continued rise as an offshore/nearshore business process outsourcing (BPO) delivery point. The event was conceptualised to create a greater understanding among partners of the itelBPO Smart Solutions approach to meet business needs in today’s world. It was held under the theme ‘Modern Disruptions, Smart Solutions’.

There were presentations from Peter Ryan, principal, Ryan Strategic Advisory; Claude Duncan; JAMPRO vice-president, sales and promotion; and the itelbpo team of Yoni Epstein, founder and CEO; Sebastian Tickle, global head of operations and partnership development; Felix Serrano, CEO, itelbpo Americas; and Michelle Yeo, itelbpo VP for human capital. Clients such as John Billings, director of global vendor performance for Hilton, and Matthew Knight, vice-president, contact center operations for Homesite Insurance, both gave testimonials. “I think that if we look at the BPO space and see what is happening globally in the Philippines and in India, I believe there are going to be businesses interested in putting their business closer to home and come back to this side of this world,” said Yoni Epstein, speaking on the future of the sector. “They will come back in two ways. I believe they are going to want to bring business onshore through work at home, which is more cost effective, and they are going to become more interested in the nearshore.” He added, “So, if you put that into perspective, we are very well suited in terms of our geographical location and the service offerings we have."
