Prime Minister Andrew Holness will be the keynote speaker at the official opening of the new Montego Bay campus of itelbpo Smart Solutions, to be held at Freeport House in the second city today. The state-of-the-art campus incorporates a modern yet industrial aesthetic with a functional layout designed to boost productivity and improve employee comfort. “Our new building sets us apart in the global landscape because it offers team members more space for work, which fosters innovation and recreation,” Yoni Epstein, itelbpo chief executive officer (CEO) told The Gleaner. “Our company enjoys a strong family culture, it was important for us to create a warm, welcoming and cozy environment for our team.” The new facility, dubbed Freeport House, will occupy 92,000 square feet, and features a wide array of amenities including a nurses’ station, a gym and a Google-inspired chill room. Furthermore, plans have already been set in motion to develop a 6,000 square foot dining hall, and childcare facilities. The occasion will also mark the fifth anniversary of the Yoni Epstein-led firm, which is Jamaica's largest locally owned business process outsourcing (BPO) operation and will feature a panel discussion on the Power of the People, featuring Dr Horace Chang, minister without portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation; Lisa Soares Lewis, founder & CEO of Great People Solutions (GPS); Peter Ryan, principal at Ryan Strategic Advisory and moderator Randall Ussery, partner at Free Range and Eighty Nine Brands. 'The importance is to portray the 'power of people'," Epstein said recently. "Without the people this business wouldn’t be what it is today and their power is what sets us apart from our competition." "Our panellists are made up of individuals that in their own right have seen what the power of people can do." Since its inception in 2012, itelbpo has developed exponentially, growing from a small BPO operator with seven employees in Jamaica to a large, global competitor with more than 1,000 employees in Montego Bay and Kingston, Jamaica, Freeport, Bahamas and Tampa, Florida, United States. Over the past five years, the company has serviced a range of clients across several industries, including hospitality, telecommunications, utilities, medical billing and transportation. itelbpo is projecting to grow its workforce to 5,000 workers globally. As part of its future plans, and is eyeing North American market to expand its existing client base.
