Sebastian has been with itelbpo for 2 years, but he has over 20 years in BPO and service industries. Originally from Switzerland, Sebastian has made Jamaica his home for the last 26 years. Most recently he held the post of Global Head of Operations & Partnership Development, but he is now a bonafide CEO … CEO Nearshore to be exact. ONEitelbpo sat down with Sebastian to dig a bit deeper into what this very tall, and frequently intense-looking man, is really all about.

O: In one word, describe yourself?
S: Relentless.

O: Tell us about your journey and the obstacles you faced to get where you are today?
S: My journey has been full of peaks and valleys, some longer than others, but the journey has been underscored by a constant sense of purpose.

O: How do you see yourself and how would you want to be seen by others?
S: In both instances: as driven by the desire to do the right thing.

O: As a Senior Executive, you must have a full Inbox. How do you manage your emails?
S: I read my emails from top to bottom. It makes a world of difference to be 5 minutes ahead rather than 5 minutes behind.

O: If you had to work as an agent, which department would you work and why?
S: Any department where a sale can be made. I like to work and I like to win. There is no such thing as a no-sale call. A sale is made on every call you make. It’s either you sell the customer or they sell you a reason they can’t. Either way, a sale is made. The only question is – who will close, me or them? For me, there’s only one answer.

O: What is your Favourite itelbpo memory?
S: October 2017 Family Meeting. I enjoy seeing people happy and having a good time. It makes it all worth it.

O: What are you really into outside of work?
S: I like watching movies that have a historical element. History tells us why we’re here, and we need to know. Otherwise, we don’t know anything. And, I enjoy swimming – blue waters, pure freedom.

O: Why are you here at itelbpo and what can we expect from you in the future as CEO?
S: I’m here because itelbpo is a Pure Play. This means pure, unscripted adventure that is not limited by its structure because the structure grows with the journey.

I would expect you to see a lot of growth, lots of hard work and lots of fun in times ahead – that’s all of us.
